As a typical UK guide, a light three-bed clearance is often in the region of £350–£700, a one-bed flat around £350–£500, and a large or heavily cluttered five-bed can run £1,200–£3,000 or more. Is rubbish removal cheaper than hiring a skip?

Often, yes. With a skip you pay for the skip, sometimes a council permit if it's on the road, and you still load it yourself. With us there's no permit, we bring the crew and do all the loading, you only pay for the space you actually fill, and we can usually clear it the same day. For most one-off household and garden jobs that works out simpler and frequently cheaper.

Are you a licensed waste carrier?

All waste is collected and disposed of by fully licensed, EA-registered carriers — upper-tier registration is what any business legally needs to carry other people's waste. You can verify any carrier on the EA public register at environment.data.gov.uk before booking, and a Waste Transfer Note is available as your proof of lawful disposal.

Do I need to check the firm I use is registered? Could I be fined?

Yes — under the householder duty of care you are legally responsible for making sure whoever takes your waste is a registered carrier. If your rubbish is later fly-tipped you can be fined even though someone else dumped it; a Blackpool-area resident was fined over £1,000 for failing to check. Always use a registered carrier and keep the Waste Transfer Note they give you.

Will I get a Waste Transfer Note?

Yes. We issue a Waste Transfer Note with every job. It records what was collected and where it went, and it's your legal proof that the waste was passed to a registered carrier and disposed of lawfully — your protection under the duty of care.

What are the penalties for fly-tipping?

Accepted Answer

Fly-tipping is a serious offence. Penalties run up to a £50,000 fine and/or six months' imprisonment (up to five years on indictment), with fixed-penalty notices and even vehicle seizure. That's exactly why we tip every load at an authorised facility and give you a transfer note. You can report a fly-tip via Blackpool Council's website.

Almost any non-hazardous household, garden, commercial and construction waste — furniture, appliances and white goods, mattresses and sofas, builders' rubble and timber, garden green waste, and general clutter from a clear-out. Fridges and freezers are taken under WEEE rules and degassed by a certified handler.

What can't you take?

Accepted Answer

We can't take hazardous items — asbestos or asbestos-containing materials, paints, solvents, oils and chemicals, gas bottles and pressurised cylinders, or clinical, medical and biohazard waste. These need specialist licensed handling, and we'll point you to the right facility for them.

Can you take a fridge or freezer?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Fridges and freezers are classed as hazardous WEEE because of the refrigerant gas and must be degassed by a certified handler and treated at an approved facility — you can't legally remove the gas yourself, and illegal disposal can be fined from £300 up to £10,000. We handle the lot correctly as part of the collection.

Where does my rubbish actually go?

Every load goes to an authorised waste facility — we never fly-tip. We recycle and divert as much as possible from landfill, sorting rubble, metal and green waste into the right streams. Lancashire's household waste recycling centres for our area are Bristol Avenue, Bispham (FY2 0JG), Jameson Road, Fleetwood (FY7 8TW) and Saltcotes Road, Lytham (FY8 4LS).

Should I just use the tip or the council bulky collection instead?

Accepted Answer

You can, but there are trade-offs. The local tips restrict vans, pickups and trailers — these need a paid permit, and Bristol Avenue requires proof of a Blackpool address. The council's Bulky Matters collection is cheap (around £21 for up to three items, plus about £7.50 per extra item) but it's appointment-only, residential-only and you must move the items out yourself. We bring the crew and van, do all the lifting, take commercial waste too, and usually clear it the same day.
